Dweller – Lurker

Words will never be able to explain how taken aback I was by this single upon first listen. Where to begin with the praise.

Lets start with the production. It’s as clean as a whistle and it makes the song so easy to listen to. The production is not important here though. What is important is how well written and performed this song is. Dweller really have set the bar high for their upcoming record as “Lurker” kicks and screams in all the same ways Underoath and early Thrice done so spectacularly back in their hey day. In fact, it would not be an exaggeration to say that Dweller make a mockery of Underoath in this track. The chaos in the drums and the thrashing guitar lines are all evident here but Dweller manage to tie all the noise in together so much better than Underoath ever have and the result is a compact, blistering piece of music that will be sure to see these Aberdeen lads hit the big time in the very near future. If this isn’t the case then their is simply no justice in this world.
