Alice in Wonderland 3D - 3/10

Rubbish. Not even Tim Burton, Carter or Depp could save this trash, the writing was awful. I almost walked out.

Still think its a mint film

Yes, it's a good film. But 9/10 good? Sheeeeeeeit, i'd give it a 7. And no Oscars. But then again, i'm not really Danny Boyle's biggest fan. Sunshine being the exception.

Yeah suppose 9 might be a bit high, still a class film, definitely more than 7.

wow brutal. I'm getting tired of Tim Burtons schtick and this looked like the standard affair from the trailers i saw. and if the writing is that bad its probably wont even be worth seeing.

It's like Avatar. The writing was bad, the story formulaic and the acting average, but blimey was it gorgeous to look at. Especially in 3D.

Avatar was infinitely more enjoyable though.

I've been rinsing the film 4 recently:

A Good Year:7/10 it was very nice to look at, and the locations they shot on are pretty sublime (the ones in France not London). Where it fell short for me was in actually believing the relationship between Crowe and Cottilard. It just seemed to pop out of nowhere and with no real conviction, plus i'm not sure whats up with Crowe's accent in this film, It's quite odd. Still it was a pleasant enough movie.

Kiss of the Dragon: 6/10 Bit of a standard modern day martial arts affair with Jet Li, sure it was enjoyable enough but just didn't have that extra oomph to make it more than your average!

On a not related more to the channel than the films. The people who are paid to cut the films for ad breaks at film 4 should be absolutely ashamed of themselves for being so bloody god awful at doing such a simple job. The amount of times I've seen films on this channel where they cut it half way through a scene and sometimes even mid sentence is ridiculous.

Knights of the South Bronx :7/10 was actually surprisingly good, especially as it was a made for tv movie which are usually complete rubbish. Ted Danson was pretty much spot on in his role and the kids in it were more believable than kids arein most thing, a pleasant surprise.

Stardust: 6/10 didn't really hit home with me but was alright for what it was.

Saw Paranormal Activity last night. What a complete pile of shit. Terrible acting, really obvious what was going to happen and full of horror cliches. Plus, I wanted to punch the screen every time the guy was talking.

That's an hour and 20 minutes of my life i'm never getting back.

The truth about cats and dogs 6/10 - Standard ish romantic tale

Kissing Jessica Stein 7/10 - A film about 2 straight but gay curious women who give it a go at a relationship, decent enough i guess.

Shooter 5/10 Like Rambo, only updated, oh wait no they did that, ok, imagine all the action from those Bourne books but on screen, oh wait, again they did that, Sigh, well any way Wahlberg was pretty poor, i just couldn't get into this, mainly because its just like an hour and a half of explosions, and its been done better elsewhere. It did have Rhona Mitra in it though, so it scores slightly up as a result.

The Hurt Locker 8/10: Not quite as good as i was hoping, but then again its been hyped to fuck. It was very good though, really enjoyed it and it does deserve the recognition its getting.

Kick Ass totally delivered on every level, favourite film of the year so far and despite there being a ton of changes from the comic, all bar one were definitely for the better!

Location: The Cronx
Shutter Island: 7/10

Bit of a departure from Scorsese's usual fare, but really well acted and shot. The score's unnerving as fuck. The only slight blemish is that there's some really obvious use of greenscreen in pointless places, as if the director just couldn't be arsed to film on location. I mean, how hard is it to put a car on a truck bed to film an in-car conversation when you're fucking Scorcese?
