3OH!3 - Want

I've been hearing about this band for quite some time now. They're making waves in the US scene so it was only a matter of time before they would find their way to our shores. Unfortunately, this is no good thing. Similar to swine flu, it’s actually something worth worrying about.

Similar to the likes of Hollywood Undead and BrokenCyde, 3OH!3 try to throw the worst of hip hop and rock music into a blender and further sprinkle it with horrible lyrics to provide you with what can only be described as horrible music. 'Want' is a record that is void of any depth. It's a record that caters so much to the young impressionable, it comes off as desperate. The lyricist struggles to find any common ground, jumping from his macho like approach, to something that almost exudes some emotion. This just makes the record sound messy, as it seems the band are trying to strike a chord with both the ballad lovers, and those who are more suited to their party anthems, and the two just shouldn’t exist on the same record. The only part of this album worth mentioning is the 'Starstrukk' remix which features Katy Perry. Katy Perry has an awesome voice, and it really is the only thing that injects some quality into the song. The rest is all a horrible mess.

Avoid this album at all costs. It's bad. Really bad.
