Video Villain – Fearless

While not necessarily coming off as particularly objectionable, this new single from Video Villain does just as little to earn your adoration as it does your scorn. A dense mixture of dirty synths, a floorfilling rhythm and a largely unremarkable female vocal, ‘Fearless’ outstays its welcome by a minute or two, and its complete absence of any discernible hook means this is ultimately too abrasive to pass for background music, but too passive and unspectacular to make any real impression either. That said, despite  only ever skirting around the edges of hitting the spot, there’s just about enough going on here to leave you curious to find out where they go from here.
