Your Demise: Reinvigorated

I was never really keen on Your Demise’s debut effort for Visible Noise, Ignorance Never Dies, but I always appreciated the band for being relentlessly brilliant live. It was much a surprise to me then when I gave the St Albans bands third album The Kids We Used To Be… a listen and absolutely adored the record from start to finish. I think the reason for this is the reinvigorated sound Ed McRae adds to the band as new lead vocalist. The ex-Centurion front man adds much needed melody to the bands music and whilst Your Demise haven’t lost any of the harsh characteristics their sound has, they’ve gone on to build upon the resources they already had and the results are mind blowing. This is why I’m excited to be attending the bands return to Aberdeen on Saturday, with a great support cast in tow.

The support cast is every bit as awesome as Your Demise, with main support coming from a band we have promoted before in Scottish dates, While She Sleeps. The Sheffield based hardcore band have grown so much since we hosted them alongside BEAR, since signing for Small Town Records in the UK and the very highly respected new start label Good Fight in the USA. The band seem to be gathering fans right, left and centre and no doubt this small Scottish tour with one of Britain’s hardcore heavy weights will gather an even larger fan base. If you haven’t heard While She Sleeps yet, where have you been? Check out the bands EP The North Stands For Nothing and be at the front screaming the words in the bands face.

Local support in the Aberdeen date will be coming from two bands that are showing a lot of promise for 2011. Grader have just recently released their new EP which we reviewed a couple of days ago and their brand of hardcore will go down a treat with fans of the aforementioned bands. Perhaps the band who excite me more though are Dweller (previously allstationsdown) who plan to release their own EP soon. We recently reviewed the single song they released “Lurker”, which was almost completely flawless. If this track is anything to go by, Dweller will be the surprise package in an amazing line up which is surely set to tear through Scotland in the next few days. Don’t miss out, you will regret it.

Please note: Dweller play Edinburgh and Aberdeen, While She Sleeps do NOT play Glasgow.

Also, I missed Last Witness out of this article as my knowledge of them, sadly, is quite poor.
